Welcome to
CENTRAL LORAIN COUNTY JOINT AMBULANCE DISTRICT
About Us
In the late 1990s, Allen Memorial Hospital was at risk of closing due to financial reasons, leaving the area it served in jeopardy. Then, in a joint effort by multiple political subdivisions it serves, the Central Lorain County Joint Ambulance District was formed. With a 3-mill levy that was supported by the voters, the newly formed Ambulance District contracted with Mercy Allen Hospital to manage the EMS personnel. Over time, equipment was replaced with new and modern upgrades, finances improved, and the tax levy was adjusted accordingly. The District's Mission Statement of providing the best possible emergency service at a reasonable cost has been our guiding mission ever since.
The Central Lorain County Joint Ambulance District currently serves approximately 95 square miles, covering over 6 political districts.
